The Assembly of God Church School, Sodepur is one of the most prestigious institutions situated in the industrial belt of Asansol. The foundation stone of the school was laid down on 8 July, 1986 by the founder principal and the present secretary of the Schools Board of Management, Mrs Anita Aidinyantz and Late W G Long.

All round development of a child has been our motto. Here, the children are not only imparted bookish knowledge but every faculty is provided to them to hone their multiple skills. They are given ample opportunities to exhibit there in born talents through various inter house activities conducted in the school. The co–curricular activities act as a whet stone to sharpen their skills. The students here, are trained, guided and tutored by 96 qualified teachers who mentor them to be balanced, matured and positive individuals.

The academic results of the students exemplify the fact that we at AGCSS are striving towards excellence. The school has roll strength of 2500 students. The students here have a choice of taking up Science, Commerce and Humanities in their Eleventh standard. To help the students be in sync with the latest developments we have TATA EDGE classes for students from classes 2 – 12.

We have gone global by winning the International School Award of the British Council in 2014 and used their logo for the next three years till 2017. We have our UK partner school, St James Primary School, Caerphilly at Wales. We have regular interaction with the school and the head teacher Mr Paul Samuel visited our school in April 2015.

As new avenues have opened up before the school we are constantly endeavoring to fulfill our dreams to excel and we will continue to open wide the hallowed portals for generations to come and contribute towards the building of the nation by imparting education and grooming students to be proud citizens of the country who will lend a meaning to their existence as humans and glorify our motto LABORE ET HONORE (L).

Each house or group is guided by the elected captains and vice captains. The democratic system draws the best out of the students and trains them for leadership. The School discourages private tuitions. However, in case of a long absence or need for remedial work, parents can apply to the Principal for permission to take private tuition. It may be noted that the Subject and Class Teacher are not permitted to give private tuition to the same Class/Section. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (The Bible) Abraham Lincoln said, "There is but one way to train up a child in the way he should go and that is to travel it yourself."

"Education in its true sense should enlighten the mind; broaden the horizon of understanding while preparing one for life". As the world around us is changing at lightning speed, we need to adapt new techniques of teaching, new skills and new approaches. It is our constant endeavour at A.G. Church School, Sodepur to prepare the students to face the present challenges with confidence and make them excel in their sphere of life.
