It is more than a decade since Apple is making the iPad and while the iPad is great at doing almost any piece of work it still doesn’t come with a calculator app built in which means the user has to download a 3 rd party app from the appstore with not so friendly user interface and ads and overall not an Apple standard experience.
The reason behind this is when the original iPad was made Steve Jobs did not like the design of the calculator so he spoke with the guy in charge and told him either to make a new app or to completely ditch the calculator app since it wasn’t “Apple standards” and that is why they did not ship the original iPad with a built in calculator because it was a over stretched version of the iPhone calculator and for some reason they didn’t make one yet.
According to sources they are going to make a calculator app for the iPad, but that’s not completely confirmed. The reason which Apple gave was that whatever they make should be perfect and they are looking forward to making a calculator app for the iPad.
