The reason iPads sell the best
The reason iPads sell the best
Whenever we think about tablets the first thing to come to our mind is the iPad. But why is it that unlike
the iPhone which although is a huge success holds a share of just 21% in the Smartphone market the
iPad just dominates the tablet market?
Before the first iPad was released there were tablets but not like the ones we are used to seeing these
days. They were heavy and bulky and had a windows desktop operating system which meant it had a
cursor and stylus and were expensive too. When Apple announced the iPad for just $499 people were
shocked and the iPad came with an app developer package which helped developers optimize the app
specifically for the iPad.
The iPad was a huge success because it needed no stylus to operate, everything was optimized, it was
cheaper and it was thin and light. Soon many android manufacturers took Apple’s innovation and made
their own tablets but there were a lot of problems with these tablets. First of all Apple made a software
just for the iPad because back then Smartphones were small and most of the software could not make
use of the large display and android was not optimized enough. Then the apps were not optimized to
make use of the full screen which ended up just stretching the app and lastly the build quality was not
good at all. So as time went by Apple just increased this gap and now it is way ahead still making the gap
go wider.
