Holi - My Favourite Festival Of Colours (Class 4)
Holi - My Favourite Festival Of Colours (Class 4)
Holi is the festival of colours. It is celebrated all over India mainly by the Hindus. It takes place towards
the end of spring. It is celebrated because Holika had a boon given by Lord Shiva that fire would never
be able to burn her. But when she sat on fire with Prahlad, she got burnt. Prahlad, however, was alive
because of his immense love for God.
In this festival children enjoy themselves very much. They play with water colours, pichkaris, water
pistols, balloons, etc. while the elders cook a delicious meal of delectable gastronomic food. In
Shantiniketan Holi is celebrated in a great way amidst songs and abir (colour dust) play.
This festival is very much loved by children. Most people enjoy and love the festival of Holi very much! It
is celebrated with much fanfare and lively spirit. Holi is my favourite festival!
