GOMARDA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY - Chhattisgarh
Gomarda Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at Sarangarh Tehsil in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. It was
established in the year 1975. The sanctuary is located about 15km away from Sarangarh.
Fauna
Tigers, Nilgiri, Leopards, Sambar, Dhole, Chausingha, Jackal, Barking Deer, Panther, Gaurs, Muntjac,
Sloth Bear, Wild Boar and others.
Avian Fauna
Hill Myna, Wood Peacock, Green Pigeon, Jungle Fowls, Gray Partridges, Quails, Storks, etc.
Getting there
The closest railhead is located at Raigarh, approximately 60km away. Raigarh is the chief transport
centre to Gomarda Wildlife Sanctuary and one can easily get buses or other vehicles to reach the
sanctuary. The nearest airport is 250km away in Raipur.

The rugged topography of Gomarda sanctuary offers ideal trekking opportunity for the die-hard
trekking lovers. They are advised to carry all their equipments, emergency contact numbers and
